De Olhos Bem Fechados (Eyes Wide Shut), 1999 [Dir. Stanley Kibrick]

bearded-pilipino:

Eyes Wide Shut
A translation of the saying among secret societies
‘my eyes are shut to your misdeeds, brother.’
This anonymity is required of the participants, otherwise the society’s moneyed elite would be revealed. For as one character in the film says, “If I told you their names I don’t think you’d sleep so well.”

Room 237, 2012 (Dir. Rodney Ascher)

stuartk37:

I found this fascinating, not particularly the theories themselves (Native American Genocide, The Holocaust, Fake Moon Landing Footage) which are undoubtedly intriguing but more about the mindset of the people who espouse them. Obviously people have spent years of their lives looking into this movie and most likely the rest of Kubricks work also.
Despite how ludicrous some of the ideas might seem it’s hard not to see where they’re coming from and there are undoubtedly hidden messages and complex subtexts in Kubricks films, although I will say the Moon Landing were not faked by Stanley Kubrick nor is his face visible in the cloud. For fans of Kubrick and film analysis:
